Hi friends!

What We Do

Established in 2024, Hi Friends Productions is an independent theatre, events and digital content production company, focused on bringing communities together. Through our upcoming 2025/26 programme, we provide spaces for emerging artists to connect with audiences and tell their progressive, heartfelt stories.

We have produced work in three UK cities, including original, queer theatre and pantomimes in Birmingham; new musical workshops in Southampton; and gigs and community events in Manchester.

Our Team

  • Adam Dorey (he/him)

    Producer

Adam Dorey is a freelance producer, writer, and composer born and raised in Waterlooville, near Portsmouth. His work lives at the intersection of theatre, music, and multimedia storytelling. He is currently developing O Aphrodite!, a new musical blending greek myth with modern dating culture.

In 2024, he founded Hi Friends Productions, producing and performing in Deadname: The Modern Frankenstein - an original theatre show dissecting gender identity through gothic horror. This year, he completed his MA in Creative and Cultural Industries at the University of Manchester, where he wrote and directed I See You, an award-winning short film exploring patriarchy and technology.

Adam has trained in theatre producing with China Plate Theatre and is currently studying Mixing and Mastering at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, London, honing his craft as a songwriter and music producer.

Alongside developing O Aphrodite!, Adam’s upcoming projects include his debut EP as a singer-songwriter and community arts events in Manchester.

  • Olivia North (she/her)

    Associate Artist and Producer

Olivia North is a graphic design and creative strategist, working across design, marketing, and events. She uses an iterative and playful process to support charitable and community projects.

She is currently part of the Peshkar YDF26 Emerging Artists Commission, developing participatory mentoring sessions to young artists. This will culminate in the creation of a ‘living’ communal archive of everyday artefacts.

Olivia has designed, organised, and marketed for several non-profit events, including the Withy Weekender community festival and Collected Calm interactive exhibition. She recently co-created Mulled and Spicy, a free print fair and gig for local artists.

Her professional experience includes leading marketing at the Prince Albert Community Trust, working as the graphic designer for RicNic youth theatre charity and Valefest, Europes largest student-run charity festival.

With an MA in Graphic Design and Art Direction and a BA in Liberal Arts and Natural Sciences, Olivia brings an interdisciplinary approach to her creative practice. Her ‘Cyclical Workflow’ process uses research, experimentation, and reflection across different mediums to create accessible and playful design.

  • Erik Booth (he/him)

    Associate Artist

Erik wrote, directed and starred in Hi Friends Productions 2024 show Deadname: The Modern Frankenstein, a show using the Frankenstein myth as a lens to explore queerness, specifically the trans identity and its complex relationship to the concept of ‘monstrosity’. Living as a trans man, Erik understands living in a world which at best refuses to recognise your existence and at worst works to destroy it. Deadname explores these topics, stepping with alternating lightness and gravitas in a one-act play which functions as a discussion with the self.

Beyond Deadname, Erik has participated in variety of shows, in a variety of different roles, both on and off stage. From villain to hero, writer to make-up artist, director to Ghoul #3, Erik has had enormous experience with the creative process of community theatre and continues to be fascinated with it. Erik hopes to use these experiences to bring his particular brand of off-beat and animated theatre he likes to create.

As for the future, Erik Booth plans to spend a lot of it in darkened room, quietly honing his skills to produce more flying fancies and delicious dramas. In other words, writing a lot more poems, plays and stories to delight the weirdos of the world.
